How do I log my community service hours toward my Key Club membership?
We wrote the essay and got your Key Club service pre-approved. We are holding copies of your Key Club Community Service Plan for this year. Make sure you have sent your hours outside Key Club through the google submission form each month so they can be approved by the board and then logged toward your Key Club membership. You will be emailed a link to our service log after every club meeting. If you see hours missing, please email us! Beginning in April for seniors, and May for all other grade levels, the CSPs will be distributed. Reference the Service Hours Log and fill in your chart with your service dates and hours, and then write a brief essay describing what you've learned about yourself and about service this year as a Key Clubber, then turn in all paperwork to your guidance counselor.

Each year, the newly elected board votes to keep or amend the criteria for the senior honor cord. These criteria are announced at every Key Club meeting. FOR 2023-2024, the criteria are as follows:
- Earn 20+ hours in KEY CLUB projects during their senior year, and at least 30 hours overall your senior year.
- Earn an average of at least 30 hours per year of Key Club membership overall.
- Attend at least one DCM, or KCKC, Zone Rally, or DCON their senior year (may not arrive late or leave early).
CLARIFICATIONS:
- For criteria #1 and #2: You MUST serve at least 20 of your 30+ hours during your senior year AT KEY CLUB projects, not "outside" projects, like those you do with other clubs or outside organizations.
- For criteria #3: You must attend at least one of the Key Club events listed. This year, we added DCMs (Divisional Council Meetings). These are led by our Lt. Governor Shyla, and usually coincide with a project where multiple Key Clubs work together on a service project. These are usually on Saturdays.
- It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to log your hours MONTHLY (and all hours from May 2023-January 2024 must be logged by FEBRUARY 1st through our google form in order to count).
- It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to check the hours log to see how many, if any, "outside" community service hours were counted toward your membership. It takes up to TWO WEEKS for these hours to be reflected in the hours log, as they must be VOTED ON by the Executive Board at their meetings on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.
